Our Artisan, award-winning Cheeses

“Our cheeses are all handcrafted with care and attention to every detail to result in exceptional quality and delectable flavour. Milk from our own grassfed cows forms the basis for all our cheese: our gentle handling techniques allow the true flavour profile of the milk to take center stage. We have compiled our favourite cheese recipes to provide you with some amazing local cheese options, all with an international flair and the unmistakable stamp of artisanal quality.”

Golden Meadow

Our flagship cheese. Modelled after the French alpine raclette, this cheese is a mild introduction to washed rind cheeses. A semi-soft cheese, it has a warm, rich, buttery flavour and is perfect for melting over vegetables or enjoying as part of a cheese board. Pair with dry white wine like chardonnay or sauvignon blanc or a light pinot noir or enjoy with lager beers.

Garlic Raclette

The original Creekside Raclette, with the addition of savoury garlic. Want to wow your dinner guests? Use this cheese in your recipes and watch them ask for second helpings! This cheese took 3rd place in the 2023 Royal Cheese Competition in Toronto, Ontario.

La Belle Vallee

The beautiful valley. Beautifully unique to our farm, this premium aged cheese is only made from May through September when grazed pasture grasses make up the largest percentage of our cows’ diet. La Belle Vallee is aged for a minimum of 12 months and is mildly sharp with a beautiful nutty flavour. Exhibiting a dark washed rind and a beautiful golden interior, this Gruyere style cheese provides interesting texture and flavours to a charcuterie platter and is a must when preparing authentic alpine fondue. Enjoy with robust red wines and darker beers, and pair with honey and candied ginger.

Alpine Ash

French Morbier style cheese featuring beautiful vegetable ash marbling through the center of each wheel of cheese. Traditionally made on alpine farmsteads in the winter months when cows were producing less milk, the line of ash was used as a barrier over the morning cheese curd before more cheese was made in the evening. We make Alpine Ash year round but the line of ash pays homage to the pioneers of this style of cheese. Fruity, mild, and approachable, this cheese is STUNNING on a cheese board. Pair with spicy preserves and a glass of BC Pinot Noir.

Gouda

With a rich legacy of dairying and cheesemaking in our Dutch ancestry, we have always felt drawn to mastering this quintessential Dutch cheese. Creamy and full flavoured with a sweet finish, this semi hard cheese is suited to all sorts of epicurean uses from sandwiches to cooking and snacking. Also available: Wild Herb Gouda: our mild Gouda featuring the addition of savoury chives, onion, garlic, and stinging nettle. WILDLY popular.

Petite Savoie

Reblochon style soft cheese featuring a washed rind and a delicate, incredibly creamy interior paste. Our most intensely flavoured cheese for the discerning cheese lover. Enjoy on a cheese board or use in authentic French tartiflette. Melts well and can be baked like a brie with sweet or savoury toppings. Available in 400g wheels or smaller wedges.

Fromage Blanc

Soft and spreadable fresh cheese. Milk is warmed gently then cultured at room temperature then carefully drained to preserve the delicate curds resulting in a light and delicate cheese. Savour on top of crusty bread or crackers, or use in salads. Available in plain and herb + garlic. Now available in the cheese shop!

Garlic Belper

Fashioned after the renowned Belper Knolle, this hard grating cheese is cultured in a similar manner to our Fromage Blanc, then the drained curd is shaped into balls and rolled in freshly cracked toasted black peppercorns. Aged for 3 months, the flavour intensifies as the curd dries, resulting in a robust flavoured cheese well suited to grating or shaving over pastas, vegetables, roasted potatoes, and meats. This cheese took 2nd place in the 2023 Royal Cheese Competition in Toronto, Ontario.

Our Grassfed Milk

things to do in chilliwack

The best milk comes from happy and healthy cows and is minimally processed to preserve flavour and quality. Our family takes pride in following strict animal welfare regulations, ensuring that our cows are treated with respect and compassion each and every day. Our cows are fed mostly grass in the form of grazed fresh pasture grasses during the summer and hay and silage during the winter. Studies have shown that cows fed a predominantly grass based diet produce milk containing more beneficial fatty acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. We gently vat process our cows’ milk in adherence to Canadian safety standards, and this small batch milk processing method results in creamy, full flavoured, fresh tasting milk. Our milk is not homogenized, meaning that the cream will naturally rise to the top. Enjoy the cream separately (in your coffee, on toast, with berries) or shake bottle gently to re-incorporate the cream into the milk. Our milk contains no additives. Pure milk, simply delicious.

Whole (no cream skimmed or removed) milk from our cows is available “on tap” right here in our farm store. Check out our innovative milk dispenser that allows our customers to fill their own (washed and sanitized) bottles with milk. Our milk is sold in 1-liter increments. We have glass bottles for sale at the farm shop; we encourage our customers to purchase our glass bottles or to reuse glass milk bottles from other dairies. The machine is available for dispensing during store hours of Thursday - Saturday from 9:30 am to 5pm. Closely follow the directions posted at the dispenser to ensure the longest shelf life for your milk.

  • Our cream-top organic milk is available during our open hours through a cash-operated milk dispenser at $3/litre. We can provide you with change for the milk dispenser in the farm store. Glass milk bottles are sold from the farm store (or you are welcome to bring your own).

If it's your first time using the milk dispenser, we're happy to show you the easy steps to get your milk.

  • Our milk dispenser is only open when the cheese shop is open: Thursday – Saturday from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm.

  • We recommend keeping your full bottles in the back of your fridge for optimal freshness. Sealed bottles will stay fresh longer than bottles that have been opened; if you purchase multiple bottles at a time we it’s best to finish one bottle before opening another.

When empty, a good rinse followed by a wash on the bottom rack of your dishwasher will clean most bottles adequately; however, to ensure optimal cleanliness we do recommend a quick scrub with some soap and a bottle brush before washing in your dishwasher. Some customers also choose to give their freshly cleaned bottles a rinse in a light bleach solution followed by a hot water rinse before air drying to ensure they are sterilized as well as clean.

  • For our cheese shop customers: Your milk bottles are yours to keep! Clean well (see above) and refill at your next stop at the creamery.

For our farmers market customers: we operate a bottle exchange program at our farmers markets. You will initially purchase a bottle filled with milk, and return your (very) clean (see directions above) empty bottle to us at our next market to exchange with a new filled bottle. We cannot accept bottles that have milk residue or are otherwise soiled. We’ll take your empty bottle(s) back to the cheese shop where we run them through a sanitizing commercial dishwasher before refilling for next market. Be sure to let us know at market if you plan to pickup milk at the next market and we’ll add you to our “market milk list” to make sure we don’t sell out before you arrive.

Check out the video below for a step by step tutorial on using our milk dispenser. It’s fun and easy!

Our grassfed beef

Grass fed beef is known for its healthier fatty acid profile and more robust flavour. Join the ranks of our loyal beef customers and discover the grass fed difference. Our beef is fed primarily grass in the form of grazed pasture grasses, hay, and stored silage (fermented grass) as well as a vitamin and mineral mixture and some ground peas to balance out the animals’ nutritional needs. We sell our beef by individual cut, although we do offer discounts on large bulk orders. Please inquire at the store for further details.
